So we’ve been busy since my last post. I didn’t really have time to stitch but I got some done. But first, I did my nails and Bug’s too for 4th of July. I tried to do some little flowers on mine and stick to the red, white and blue theme. Bug wanted some gold stars on hers and her theme is easier to see.

We went to a little pet parade this past weekend and I was able to get Bug a chance to pet a pony. She loves, loves, loves horses so when we saw them in the parade she made me take a picture of every single one. Afterwards, when we were walking back to the car, I saw the ladies putting up one of the ponies and I asked if Bug could pet it. She said sure and was even nice enough to let her take a picture with the pony.

image

After the weekend finished I repainted my nails, they were chipping anyway, and I used the polishes I got in the mail. They’re holos so they look even more beautiful outside in the sunlight.

image

image

I love these polishes. That’s 2 of the 8 colors I received. I know I don’t need anymore polishes but these were holos and I didn’t have any so I needed these. Lol. Hubby just doesn’t understand my logic. Hehe

Now for my WIP, I was able to get some stitches put in there. I finished up most of the dark colors and started on the cream colors on the floor. So far here’s what I’ve got….

image

I’m hoping I can get more done before next week so I can have a bit more on my next update.

And, last but not least, if u remember we have a puppy named Sugar. She’s a mini poodle and we’ve had her for about a year and a half now.

image

She looks like she’s smiling here so I had to use this picture.

Anywhoo, I’ve been trying to talk hubby into getting another dog so she won’t be lonely when Bug starts school and I go to work. He’d always been against it saying we couldn’t afford it cause I wanted to adopt another puppy and most of them were between $150 and $200. Well, when we took Sugar to get groomed they were having adoptions at Petco and I fell in love with a doggie. He’d been mistreated and kept in a crate his whole life and because of that his back legs are smushed together and he has to take meds for them. Because of all this, he was only $35 to adopt. My heart went out to the little guy, and guess what….

image

We brought him home!! He’s a new family member and has only been with us for a few days so far but we love him. His name is Donnie and he’s a 3 year old Chihuahua.

That’s it for this update. Hopefully next week I’ll have more to show y’all!!

Update on WIP July 3, 2013

I haven’t had much time to stitch lately but I’m trying my best to get the project done quickly. Even though there is only a slight bit of difference, small progress is still progress!!

This is how it’s looking now….

image

The majority of the light colors are actually a really light blue grey, like this….

image

Hopefully you can see the difference there. It’s a bit hard to see right now because I haven’t added the rest of the bottom areas so everything just looks white and blends in. Hopefully I’ll get a bit more done before next weekend but hubby is off tomorrow thru Monday so I may not have time. Lol.

On the rambling side of things (if you don’t want to here my ramblings you can stop reading, I just didn’t want to start a whole different post), I ordered some nail polishes that are coming in the mail and I’m completely anxiously awaiting their arrival. The reason I’m so hyped up about them is because there is something special about these polishes, but I’m not going to tell you what that is until I receive them. I did get something to use on my nails now though. They are in need of quite a bit of repair so I went to Walgreens, and with my point card saved almost $5, and got these…

image

Sorry for the bad picture, it’s the best I could do with th’s lighting conditions. But, I’ve read that with the Sally Hansen it’s a hit or miss thing as to whether or not it works hopefully it’ll be a hit on me. The Nailtiques is something that I’ve heard and read many people rave about so I had to snatch it up. It’s the half ounce bottle and it was $19.99. Now I know you’re thinking That’s pretty expensive, and it was to me too, but out of the thousands of reviews online about it I found maybe a handful that were bad. That’s pretty impressive to me and because my nails are in need of some extreme TLC I got it. Hopefully it works. I’m also thinking of doing my nails a stars and stripes design because tomorrow is 4th of July (Independence Day) for us but I’m not sure yet.

Also, I have to mention really quickly that we had some friends over on Sunday for a BBQ and we got a game to play cause it looked like fun….

image

It really was so much fun!! The object of the game is to guess what you are based on the card in your headband. You can only ask yes or No questions and the others can only answer yes, No, could be or I don’t know. It was hilarious because it took us a couple of rounds to get the hang of it because we would have to go around the circle and by the time it was our turn again we had forgotten what we had asked. If you ever have a chance to pick it up and you like games with a challenge then this’ll be perfect for you!!

Until next time,

This is a picture of my project that was taken on June 6th. Then, on the 11th this is what she looked like….

image

And now, as of today, she’s coming along a bit better than she has before. I’ve been doing some slow stitching lately but want to be able to get back into it.

image

I’m not going to show what she is going to be in the end because it’s going to be a surprise. Hehe

My old stitches

This is what ended up happening with hubby’s project. I got a painting canvas and pasted the project to it then used some ribbon to border it and make a hanging tie for it. Other than this one, I’ve even done my other lady….

image

I did roughly the same things with her but added a few flowers on the corners. I love the way she came out and I did this cause I couldn’t find a frame i wanted for her or the cross and couldn’t afford to get them framed so I looked online and got creative. The lady is the sister of the one I’m working on now but That’s a different post.

I don’t have a picture of the geisha that I finished but it is completed and gifted. Next up is my stitching I’m working on now.

And for hubby….

Hubby hasn’t really been up to too much more since I was last here and there’s not much to post on him but I feel that I have to include him in here.

Other than the fact that him and Bug are pretty much twins when they sleep….

image

I love sneaking pics of the two of them when they look like this cause its just so cute to me!!

image

She also got a breathing treatment at the ER cause she may have asthma and need a machine. Her daddy had one so it makes since that she needs one too. I find this humorous because the two of them are so much alike!!

Bug’s soccer season

image

My little princess hasn’t been to school and she doesn’t really get to be around other kids except her cousins and they live almost a hundred miles away so we decided to put her in soccer so she could interact with the other kids.

Her first practice went Okay and she had a hard time talking to her coaches because she is quite shy. We took pictures and she did this weird little thing with her arm when she tried to kick the ball and control it.

image

image

image

Then I was able to snap a few pics from one of her games. I don’t have a whole lot of pictures from her games cause I was too busy screaming but I did get some.

image

image

My baby even scored a goal in one of the games and I was so over the moon about it!! The whole team got medals for participation at the end of the season.

I love my baby and this is what she’s been up to. Soccer and growing into a big girl.

My life so far….

So why am I staring down this mannequin? Well because she kept looking at me. Lol. This is a simple random post to let ya’ll know one of the most dramatic events that I went through, in a symbolic way, since I was last on here. The picture above is me with me old hair before I decided to get it completely re-done. It was okay but I wanted something more with an oomph and because I was trying to grow my hair out I wanted something that was going to be close to the color of my natural hair.

During the process:

My hairdresser Maria is an amazing stylist and I went to her to see what it was she could do with my hair. During my appointment I completely destroyed my phone case (don’t ever try to be cute and talk on your phone to your mom while you have dye in your hair, it just won’t work) and had to stay past closing time.

Fast-forward to 3 1/2 hours later and you have this:

image

I absolutely loved the ombre way my hair came out and I thought to myself that now I would be able to grow it as long as I wanted to. I’d curl it and straighten it and take care of it because I wanted it to stay looking this beautiful. Well after 6 months or so my hair had grown a bit, it doesn’t grow fast because I don’t have good hair genes, and I was okay with it. I was trying to decide how to wear it for when I walked the stage for my graduation.

I came up with this:

image

As you can see, it was a good bit longer than before and because it was cut in a v shape it was longer on the very bottom. I’d had it trimmed a few times but it was still growing good for me. I wasn’t too happy with this style and I couldn’t decide what it was that I actually wanted to do with it.

After a while I thought that since I was finished with school and I was starting a new chapter in my life I’d have a fresh start. On a bit of a planned whim, I’d thought about it but wasn’t sure how exactly I wanted it done until I got there, I ended up with this hair:

image

That is me and Bug after my graduation. My hair is all chopped off in a short above-the-shoulder long angled bob and it’s a deeper red color. I love it. I’ve started a new chapter in my life with being finished with school, Bug going to start school and finding a job that will eventually lead to my decision on what I want my career to be so I’m starting it completely fresh. I never thought that I was one of those people who did dramatic things when they started new parts in their life but looking back on this I’d say that for those who know me it’s the best way to describe what has been going on in my life.

I know this was random and a bit of nonsense but that’s a bit of my life. Bug also made her first big girl decision and got her hair cut from about the length of my old hair to how you see it now. She made most of the calls on it and even picked out the picture of how she wanted her hair. She sat over there with the stylist all by herself and wouldn’t let me see it until it was done. My baby is growing up and it’s making me so sad!!
