I don’t have an autistic child but I do have a husband who is in the military. I can’t imagine being put in the position to have to continue to be pulled away from your family by multiple deployments simply so that your child can get the care they need. That’s simply not right. My full support goes out to this cause.
So I mentioned that I’m banned from doing housework for now and I wish I could say it was for a better reason but sadly it’s not. I’ve been having trouble with my left knee for a few weeks now and I was referred to a specialist after having X-rays and an MRI done. I went today and took Bug (my nickname for my daughter) with me because hubby had to work. Anywhoo….I was told that I probably have tendonitis and was given a shot in my knee. Bug saw the needle and covered her eyes saying “Mommy I don’t want to look!!” I told her it’s okay I wasn’t going to look either. She said (while still covering her eyes with one hand), “Mommy but you can hold my hand so it won’t hurt.” She’s such a sweetie but I didn’t want to squeeze too hard so I passed on the offer. Lol.
AFTER I was given the shot the dr told me that it was going to be numb for about an hour and a half (and I’m thinking that’s so awesome I won’t feel the pain) then it’ll wear off and I’ll be in worse pain than I was before for about a DAY and a half (WHAT??!! Why didn’t he tell me this before giving me the shot??). So after we ran around to the store while I could still walk we went and picked up hubby from work and my knee had definitely stopped being numb. It was hurting like a beast!! Hubby sat me down and told me I was not to get up from the couch and he brought me my food so I could eat it there and he cleaned up afterwards too. When it was time to come upstairs he has to half carry me half help me hop because he was so tired and ready to crash.
Then while I was tucking Bug in she told me that I better hold on to something when I’m walking and I better not carry the basket up the stairs while daddy was at work. Come to find out hubby had a talk with her and told her to snitch on me if I did anything except rest. Lol. It’s going to be an interesting day tomorrow (or today actually because it’s almost 1 in the morning) trying to move around without being caught or in too much pain. At least I’ll have some time to get some school work and some stitching in!! 😀
Okay so I have no idea how to rotate the image so that y’all can see it but the right side is the top and the left side is the bottom. It’s actually about ready to be scrolled up again so I wanted to take a pic before I did. This is the part that is continued from my last pic update and it you look at the top part of the picture you’ll see where the collar is, it’s the lines going across. Also the lighter shade has been put in on some parts to add the contrast that you see in the image of what the work will look like.
I was able to get quite a bit done and have been all but banned from doing housework, but more on that in another post. Hehe. This means that I’ll have time to stitch and do my school work hopefully without a whole lot of stress.
All in all, I think it’s coming along quite nicely. I hope to have another update on Friday but my little brother is graduating then so it’s probably going to be late. 😉
