A Stitcher's Stitchings

Oh, for the love of cross stitching….and a few ramblings

Hump day update November 7, 2012

I have officially started the second half of the pattern, earlier today that is. I didn’t have much time between finishing the outlining and doing a bit else so all of the green in the second half is what was done today.

First for the outlining. Here are some before and afters of the butterfly outlining:

I definitely think that the outlining gives the pattern so much more oomph. Before all you could see was some pink squares and maybe butterflies, if you used your imagination. After you can definitely tell what they are.

Those few pics are going to be the last ones of the entire bottom half until the project is done because I had to scroll up. That’s right, I had to scroll. 😀

Here is the part the I have done today

It may not look like much but when looking at more of the pattern you can tell it goes with it.

I’m hoping I will have a bit more time to stitch this week so I can have some more done.

Whip those stitches everyone!!

This piece is so lovely and coming along at a great pace. Outlining the butterflies definitely makes a difference. Before the outlining, I thought the pinks were just splotches of color on the dress. I love that they are beautiful little butterflies. Scrolling is a sign of accomplishment. It feels great when you can turn those rods, doesn’t it?

Thank you. I’m glad that I’m not the only one who thought that the butterflies looked like little nothings before they were outlined. Lol. I’m on to the second half and can’t wait to get the dress finished so I can start on the head. Eeek!!

I love the before and after pictures of the backstitching. The stitching really makes those butterflies pop out !

Thank you. The backstitching really does add more to the pattern. I don’t think that I would ever like to do a pattern that didn’t have some detail or backstitching in it.
