With a whole bunch of different things. First, I got an email from my school telling me I needed to fill out a graduation packet because I’m almost in my last semester. I’ve been doing crazy amounts of school work because I want to keep my GPA up. Whew!! It’s getting tougher but I’m almost done. I’m doing online college so I can stay home with bug but get to walk the stage for graduation. I’m uber excited and hubby is so proud of me.

On top of that, the past week was hectic because….

It was bug’s birthday party!! Tomorrow, the 27th, is her official birthday but we had her party at the bowling alley last Saturday. She loved it!! We had family and friends come and she really loved when everyone sang happy birthday to her.

She also got to hang out with her cousin that she doesn’t see too often anymore cause she is going to school this year.

Overall, it was an awesome day, even when everyone was trying to figure out how to get her rope for her pinata over the tree branch. (If you look closely at bug she’s getting mad cause hubby is wearing my shoes. Hehe)

On top of all of that, I’ve been trying to keep stitching so I get my projects done by Christmas time. I’ve been quite a busy bee!!

A day at the nail salon August 8, 2012

I had been telling hubby a lot lately that my nails were in uber bad shape over and over. Well, Monday he got me to get up off my tush and go get a mani. I told him I didn’t want to go alone so guess who came with me?? My bug!! It was a nice little mother daughter hour and a half.

Well, when we got to the nail salon I decided that bug couldn’t just have a mani, I wanted her to get her first real pedi too!! She had her toe nails painted at a different salon but they didn’t even allow her to put her feet in the water. What kind of fun is that?? She was so disappointed so this time I made sure that she was able to put her little feet in the water. Once they confirmed that she’d get everything done that I would I was all for it. I paid for the services first (I can’t stand having to reach into my purse or pocket to pay after I’ve just had my nails done because I’m afraid I might mess them up) and then we went back to the pedi area.

Bug’s chair was right next to mine so I thought that she would be fine….I thought wrong. She didn’t want to put her feet in the water because she kept saying she was scared. I think she was really scared to have someone else doing her nails because she’s really shy around new people. The ladies were so sweet and patient. They let her sit in my lap while I was getting my pedi and the lady who was doing her’s did her mani while she was sitting with me so that she would be comfortable with her.

After a while of talking her into it, we were able to convince her that she’d be okay in her own chair like a big girl and that I wasn’t going anywhere until she was done with her feet. After she got over her fear she actually loved it and wanted to go back!!

I ended up getting my nails squared so that I could do my own french tips when they grow out a bit. I fully intended to take a before pic of my nails but completely forgot. So, here’s the after pic of my nails….

I got a pink on my fingers and so did bug, but she liked the neon pink more than my muted bubblegum pink. Lol.  😀

Now for our toes. I went for matchy-matchy but that was too simple for bug. Hehe. She chose the neon pink for her fingers and a sparkly blue for her toes. She always has to have a different color on her fingers and her toes. She’s just so indecisive. Can you tell she gets her hands and feet from me??  😉
